Japan Airlines Offers Pet-Friendly Plane for Dog Owners
  • 7 years ago
Have you ever flown with your dog before? Maybe you know how much of a worry it is to leave your pooch behind with a friend for an extended period of time or, even worse, leave your dog in the hold with the rest of the baggage. However, one airline is now offering a novel new service which enables their clients to bring their best animal friends on board the flight and keep the in the cabin.

Japan Airlines launched a special flight that allows pet dogs to travel in the cabin with their owners. They rolled out the new, limited-time service, which is called the "wan wan jet," on the flight from Narita International Airport outside Tokyo to the southwestern Kagoshima Prefecture, and dog lovers are howling with delight.

Pet dogs and their owners were able to depart together in the passenger cabin of a Boeing 737 as part of a special three-day domestic tour. While pets usually travel in cargo compartments, the "wan wan jet" service gave owners the right to make sure that their dog were safe and comfortable as they traveled together in the cabin on a charter flight.

The dog flight service is part of a package tour. Owners accompanied by their furry friends will stay together in a hotel and go sightseeing. The basic package costs just over $1,300 for two adults and a dog.
