UPPSALA, SWEDEN — Three men in Sweden have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated rape after broadcasting the sexual assault of a woman on social media.

Breitbart reports that commenters on Swedish internet forum Flashback that claimed to have seen the livestream say the trio looked Middle Eastern, with one user even posting a photo collage of one of the alleged attackers.

Police said the men were aged 18, 20, and 24, but have not confirmed the suspects’ nationalities or histories.

BBC reports that the trio livestreamed to Facebook from inside an Uppsala apartment Saturday night, and at least one of them was armed. The female victim appeared intoxicated and barely conscious.

Witnesses who saw the video say one of the men tore at the woman’s clothes and then got on top of her. They later laughed as they told her she’d been raped. The man with the gun also reportedly threatened viewers, challenging them to show up at the apartment.

A horrified woman who saw the video immediately called police, as did many others.

The broadcast was still ongoing as an officer barged into the room. He turned off the camera and confronted the men before taking all three into custody.

Reports claim the men also broadcast a second video, in which the woman denies being raped. Most believe though, that she had been forced to do so.
