CIA Director John Brennan has denied that he was responsible for leaking the dossier which contained potentially damaging but unsubstantiated claims about Donald Trump.

CIA Director John Brennan has denied that he was responsible for leaking the dossier which contained potentially damaging but unsubstantiated claims about Donald Trump.
On Monday, Brennan told the Wall Street Journal, “Was I a leaker of this? No.”
He then reportedly distanced the document from the intelligence community and said he had not even read it nor would he want to give it more publicity.
The day before, the president-elect had speculated about Brennan’s involvement in the dossier’s release on Twitter; citing a Fox News story, Trump wrote, “'Outgoing CIA Chief, John Brennan, blasts Pres-Elect Trump on Russia threat. Does not fully understand.' Oh really, couldn't do...much worse - just look at Syria (red line), Crimea, Ukraine and the build-up of Russian nukes. Not good! Was this the leaker of Fake News?”
Brennan had appeared on Fox News Sunday and told host Chris Wallace, “There is no basis for Mr. Trump to point fingers at the intelligence community for leaking information that was already available publicly.”
The CIA director also said about the president-elect, “I don’t think he has a full appreciation of Russian capabilities, Russia’s intentions and actions that they are undertaking in many parts of the world.”
