Ringling Bros. circus closes after 146 years

The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus will officially close in May, after 146 years of performances, according to the Associated Press. The "Greatest Show on Earth" is coming to and end due to declining attendance over the last decade. Following the announcement, animal rights group PETA immediately declared victory. In 2015, the company decided to retire their elephants following backlash from animal activists. Between now and May, the circus is expected hold 30 more performances before their final goodbye.
