Moscow resident Alexander Lyubarskiy bought a domesticated lynx six years ago and has been living with the animal in his apartment ever since.

Don't be fooled - owning a large cat is no easy task. Mike Tyson's tigers consumed up to $1500 worth of meat every day. Although lynxes are smaller animals, and thus have smaller appetites, keeping one is still costly. Just how did Alexander come upon the idea to get a lynx?

Lyubarskiy’s feline friend prefers to spend the majority of its time on the apartment balcony, especially during the wintertime where it can take in the cold, dry air an observe passing cars and people. Wild lynxes, like any wild animals, can be quite dangerous to keep in the home, but Alexander's lynx has been domesticated to the point that he interacts well even with Alexander's young son.
