Approval Rating Of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie Hits An Astounding Low

Only 19% of respondents in a recent Quinnipiac University poll expressed approval of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s term runs until early 2018, but, based on recent approval ratings, many of the state’s residents are already looking forward to its end.
According to Quinnipiac University poll results released on Tuesday, only 19% of respondents hold Christie in high esteem.
That number is the lowest given to any governor of the state in the last 20 years.
The Washington Post notes, “…the only one in worse shape in recent years was former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich.”
Notably, Blagojevich resigned in the midst of corruption accusations and was eventually handed a 14-year prison sentence.
Christie’s troubles are largely tied to the ‘Bridgegate’ scandal, over which two of his former aides were convicted.
The Quinnipiac poll was conducted from November 28 through December 4, not long after those verdicts were announced.
