Donald Trump introduces defense pick James Mattis in North Carolina

President-elect Donald Trump formally introduced Gen. James Mattis as defense secretary Tuesday night during a "thank you" rally. Trump called General Mattis “one of the most effective generals that we’ve had in many, many decades” at the North Carolina rally. During the event, Trump highlighted his plans as future president, focusing on stopping illegal immigration and repealing the Affordable Care Act. He also suggested that he plans to strengthen U.S. relationships with alliances around the world to put a halt on conflicts. The future president has upcoming rallies in Des Moines, Iowa and Grand Rapids, Michigan.
