Massive crack spreading accross Antarctica’s biggest ice shelves

Scientists have been monitoring a large crack in one of the world’s great ice shelves — Larsen C in Antarctica. Larsen C is only "slightly smaller than Scotland" according to researchers, and is entirely covered by ice that is floating in deep ocean waters. Between 2011 and 2015, the crack in Larsen C grew around 30 kilometers in length. Since then, the crack has only grew larger, posing a danger to sea levels. If the ice shelf were to break off, it would be enough to add new waters to the ocean.
