Trump angers Bejing over phone call with Taiwanese president

China lodged a complaint with the U.S. over a controversial phone call between President-elect Donald Trump and Taiwan's president. The 10 minute phone call has overturned decades of diplomatic protocol and potentially damaged diplomatic row with Bejing. The controversial relationship between China and Taiwan stems back to 1927. Since 1979, China has viewed Taiwan as a renegade province and the U.S. acknowledge Beijing's claim that Taiwan is part of China. The statement did not describe or elaborate on the details of China’s complaint to the U.S.
