Axelrod Mocks Trump’s 'Impressive' Cabinet: 'Mixing Billionaires With Just Plain Multi-Millionaires'

CNN commentator David Axelrod recently tweeted about the wealth of President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet picks thus far.

President-elect Donald Trump is being criticized for a lack of diversity in his cabinet appointments.

On Wednesday, CNN commentator David Axelrod tweeted, “So far, give [Donald Trump] credit for assembling a diverse Cabinet, mixing billionaires with just plain multi-millionaires.”

One person, identified as Gayle R. responded to his message by writing, “multimillionaires are the middle class to Trump.”

Trump has picked a number of known billionaires to serve in his administration, including Wilbur Ross as Secretary of Commerce and Betsy DeVos as Secretary of the Department of Education.

He has also appointed Goldman Sachs alum Steve Mnuchin as Secretary of the Treasury.

Trump’s other major picks have political backgrounds; these include Senator Jeff Sessions as Attorney General, Representative Tom Price as Secretary of Health and Human Services, former labor department head Elaine Chao as Transportation Secretary, and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley as America’s ambassador to the United Nations.

Trump had previously been criticized for a lack of racial and gender diversity since the first selections he announced were white men, but his team has since expanded on those fronts.
