George, an orphaned baby wombat who has been taken in by an Australian park has become an Internet sensation.
His journey to stardom began quite tragically.
At the tender age of 4 months, George lost his mother to a car accident.
A passerby stopped to investigate the situation and found the wombat still in his deceased mother’s pouch.
In the months since, George has been under the care of Sydney’s Australian Reptile Park, notes KPNX.
Recently, the park shared a video showing what a healthy and human-loving little guy the common wombat has become.
The footage, which shows that George now lives a life filled with park outings, toys, sock chewing, and cuddles, has warmed the hearts of millions on its way to taking over the Internet.
