Open Your Eyes

How many times have you walked through your city or neighbourhood and stopped to check out a crowd gathering around an unusual space or object that caught your eye?

This short video set in Vancouver, Canada, looks for those eye-catching and emotive experiences that can occur when wandering through parks, plazas, streets and alleys. It explores the things that we find in everyday places.

It is a piece that is a response to a world increasingly filled with non-places such as grocery stores or strip malls, where shared connections are seldom made. The project aims to bring to to light an unwritten history and narrative in the spaces that are inhabited daily by nameless and faceless people. The ultimate goal is to give the ever multiplying, lifeless and sterile environments of today a bit of humanity.
