Robert De Niro Softens His Stance On Trump

Robert De Niro appears to soften his stance on Trump in a recent interview.

On Tuesday, Robert De Niro spoke with reporters at the White House, where he accepted the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
According to The Hill, De Niro was asked by ITK what message he would like to convey to President-elect Donald Trump.
The actor answered, “I would only say that we’re all hoping, waiting and hoping, that he will lead the country in a way that’ll benefit everyone and benefit our neighbors around the world. We’re waiting and hoping, and we’ll see.”
The response marks a significant softening of De Niro’s previous stance on Trump.
Not long ago, he called the then-GOP candidate a “national disaster,” “a con,” an “idiot,” and an “embarrassment.”
After Trump was declared the victor in the election, De Niro told the Hollywood Reporter that "I feel like I did after 9/11."
