Can you be spied on through your headphones?

A new research study shows your headphones can be hijacked and used to spy on you, according to Israel's Ben Gurion University. Researchers found that headphones can be exploited through the audio jack to listen in on your conversations. An attacked computer can be remotely configured to swap the headphone jack for the microphone jack, allowing headphones plugged into your PC to be used as a microphone. According to the study, recorded conversations are audible from up to 20 feet away.
