Grenade thrown at French embassy in Athens

Anti-terror officers are investigating a suspected grenade attack on a security post outside the French embassy in central Athens.

Police say an object was thrown by one of two people on a passing motor bike. It then exploded injuring the officer who was on duty at the time

He was taken to hospital suffering from blast wounds to the feet. He’s not said to be in a serious condition.

Police immediately sealed off the area in front of the embassy which lies close to parliament buildings .
