McDonald's has risen above many analysts' expectations by achieving third-quarter revenue of $6.42 billion compared to an estimated $6.28 billion. Shares increased 2.4 percent to $113.27 Friday morning. Upgrades to global stores, like self-service kiosks, helped McDonald's bring in the bucks, according to CEO Steve Easterbrook. McDonald’s, which generates about two-thirds of its revenue from outside the U.S., got the biggest boost last quarter from its business abroad.
