For any woman, one of the most important parts of her wedding day is walking down the aisle with her father. It is one aspect that makes the wedding day such a “special day”. But for Jeni Maenner, her father, Michael Stepien, had passed away.

10 years ago, Michael Stepien was shot and killed in a robbery. The Stepien family decided there was no better way to honor him than by donating his organs. His heart ended up going to a man named Arthur Thomas.

With her wedding coming up, Jeni had her father on her mind. So, she decided to contact Arthur. It was her intention to invite him to her Pittsburgh based wedding and to invite him to walk her down the aisle on her wedding day. After all these years, Jeni met, for the first time, the man who took her father’s heart… and then he walked Jeni down the aisle. “I feel wonderful that I can be the vehicle that allows her to have him come back”, Arthur said.

This amazing wedding day was everything Jeni wanted it to be saying, “it was the best day in my entire life!”
