Beware of Tuskers on Rishikesh-Dehradun highway

The increasing movement of elephants on the Rishikesh-Dehradun road is a cause of worry for both commuters and the Forest Department. The department is undertaking routine measures like increasing patrolling in the affected areas, but elephants are bound to visit this area as this has been a traditional elephant corridor area used by many generations of elephants before human settlements were made in this region.
