A federal complaint filed on Tuesday says Ahmad Khan Rahami, the suspect in the New York and New Jersey bombings, bought parts for the explosive devices on eBay.
A federal complaint filed on Tuesday says Ahmad Khan Rahami, the suspect in the New York and New Jersey bombings, bought parts for the explosive devices on eBay, reports ABC News.
The components, which were purchased from June to August, included citric acid, electric igniters, and small metal balls commonly used with slingshots.
According to a statement eBay released to Gizmodo, the goods Rahami purchased, “…are legal to buy and sell in the United States and are widely available at online and offline stores."
The company also noted it is, "proactively working with law enforcement authorities on their investigation."
The complaint says the suspect bought the items under the username ‘ahmad rahami’ and had them shipped to his Perth Amboy, New Jersey place of employment.
It was also revealed that metal balls were found in two bombs planted in Chelsea and electric igniters in one.
