Donald Trump is under fire again for appearing to mock a person’s injury.
The Republican nominee’s current target is Democratic Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid who tried to deflect media attention from Hillary Clinton’s health issues on Tuesday by saying that Trump “...complains about her health. What does he do? He's 70 years old. He's not slim and trim. He brags about eating fast food every day…”
When the Washington Post asked Trump about the senator’s comments in an interview on Wednesday, the businessman reportedly said, “Harry Reid? I think he should go back and start working out again with his rubber work-out pieces.”
Last year, Reid had an accident when an exercise band snapped and he fell, causing him to break several bones and become blind in one eye, reports Business Insider.
Reid has since responded to Trump’s reference, stating, in part, “Donald Trump can make fun of the injury that crushed the side of my face and took the sight in my right eye all he wants - I’ve dealt with tougher opponents than him...I may not be able to see out of my right eye, but with my good eye, I can see that Trump is a man who inherited his money and spent his entire life pretending like he earned it.”
