US and Russia-brokered Syrian cease-fire takes effect today

A Syrian cease-fire plan coordinated by the U.S. and Russia has taken effect Monday and there are no immediate reports of major fighting. Both the Syrian government and the rebels have both given indication that they will comply. The deal was announced in Geneva on Saturday by Secretary of State John F. Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
