Head instructor and Owner Coach Bear teaches the Muay Thai class at BEC. He brings techniques back from several training camps popular in Thailand which include Rompo Gym, Banglapee and Pattaya Fairtex Gyms, Sityodong, and Lanna Muay Thai in Chiang Main. Coach Bear also derives many of his Thai Boxing techniques from Master Nelson. Master Nelson is a 58 year old Thai man who has lived and taught Muay Thai in the United States for the past 26 years. He has had 110 Thai fights, 10 of them in the ancient style with bound fists and no gloves. The majority of Master Nelson's victories have come via knockout or cuts due to elbow strikes. Nelson carries on his Grandfather's technique of Mak Chaew, or rhythm Muay Thai. Rhythm Muay Thai is very rare and is a dying technique. Coach Bear is Master Nelson's soul pupil dedicated to learning and preserving the Muay Thai technique of Master Nelson's family. Because of the varied and privileged tutelages that Coach Bear has enjoyed, his students recieve some of the best Muay Thai technique and instruction to be found anywhere besides Thailand itself.
2 Times per year Coach Bear conducts two guided training, travel and adventure tours to Thailand. Our next trip should be this April. Give us a call at 949 294 1280
