The past few years has seen Nigerian music explode all over the world, from D'Banj scoring a number one in the UK with "Oliver Twist" to Wizkid's collaborations with the likes of Drake, Skepta. and French Montana. While in Lagos we got three of the scene's most influential pioneers, Don Jazzy, DJ Jimmy Jatt & Dr. Sid discuss the evolution of Nigerian music over the past two decades, the current musical climate in Nigeria, and how the term "Afrobeats" can be problematic.

This project is brought to you in collaboration with the British Council. Our shared vision for Gateways Nigeria is to build cultural connections and create links between British and Nigerian artists.
