Gaines’ son was struck by a bullet and taken to a local hospital where he’s reportedly in good condition. It’s unknown if the injuring shot was fired by police or his mother, the Baltimore County news release said.

The incident began at around 9 a.m. on Monday when officers arrived at Gaines’s apartment to serve arrest warrants for her and her boyfriend Kareem Courtney.

Courtney fled the scene with a 1-year-old child during the standoff but was later caught by police, NBC News reported.
