SEATTLE — Police arrested a man on Capitol Hill after he threatened a bouncer with a homemade spear and threw a batarang at officers as they chased him.

Authorities were called to a bar close to East Olive Way and East Denny Way about 6:30 p.m. after getting reports of a 23-year-old man with a homemade spear threatening a bouncer.

The man left and was chased by two police officers in a patrol car, police said.

During the pursuit, the officers noticed him throw something at the vehicle, which they later found to be a “sharp, black Batman-style throwing star,” that lodged into the front of the SUV, according to an online police account of the incident.

The police eventually caught up to the man around the 800 block of East Denny. He was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of felony assault, police said. Police are also requesting additional weapons and obstruction charges.
