A woman who drove her husband’s corpse through Alaska for days will unlikely be charged as, apparently, she broke no laws.

A woman who drove her husband’s corpse through western Canada for days will unlikely be charged as, apparently, she broke no laws.

The 78-year-old man, who died on Prince of Wales Island the weekend before last, was placed in an aluminum box for transport to the morgue.

His wife had other ideas, taking him on a road trip instead.

By Wednesday, they had made it to Ketchikan, where authorities became involved.

The area police chief explained, “… My understanding is kind of …there’s been a rolling wake or viewing. …evidently, she had stopped at a couple of the canneries and got ice and filled the bed of the truck with ice to keep the body chilled."

He also commented, “You can't make this stuff up.”
