Red Hot Chili Peppers cancelled a concert slated for Saturday night at the Irvine MeadowsAmphitheater in Irvine, California, after lead singerAnthony Kiedis was hospitalized, the band announced at the venue.
The band's gig was part of the KROQ WeenieRoast.
BassistFlea broke the news to concert-goers about his 53-year-old bandmate's hospitalization.
"Anthony is on his way to the hospital right now and we're unable to play this evening,"The band is next scheduled to perform May 17th at Burbank, California's iHeartRadio Theater; the Chili Peppers have not yet commented on the fate of that concert.
