In April and May of 2010, Taki Telonidis and Hal Cannon traveled to Texas, working on a Deep West Radio documentary of the Legacy of John Lomax, the first folklorist to record cowboy songs and other great American traditions. While there, they pent time with legendary cowboy singer and music historian, Don Edwards, who shared "The Streets of Laredo," a song tracing its roots to a centuries-old British ballad. This Deep West Radio documentary was a Western Folklife Center-City Lore project, and was heard on NPRs Weekend Edition Sunday on December 5, 2010.
