Bugle Boy March –Carlings 1991
The Carling family from Gotheborg Sweden perform at the 1991 Molde Jazz Festival in Norway.
Although they have become more and more known for their jazz music versatility here they play a tune from the early days of New Orleans later made famous by bands like Geoge Lewis and Bunk Johnson in the fourties.
We see father Hans leading the group on trumpet, son Max (21) is on clarinet Gerd(19) on trombone, seldom seen but Gunhild (16) on piano, with Ulf (12) on drums and mom Aina on banjo.
Again, it is amazing how they are able to grasp the essence of this particular style.
For some bands it takes a lifetime of dedication and playing. Even little Ulf plays like an experienced New Orleans styled drummer
