Sheryl Crow - All I wanna do
Ancienne institutrice, Sheryl Crow a commencé sa carrière musicale comme choriste, dans les années 1980, à Los Angeles. Elle a notamment été engagée pour la tournée Bad de Michael Jackson.
En 1990, elle signe avec A&M Records pour produire son premier album. Cependant, les enregistrements, au son « pop » très léché, la déçoivent et elle réussit à convaincre la maison de disque d'en retarder la sortie. Elle travaille alors avec un groupe d'amis musiciens, dont le producteur Bill Bottrell, avec qui elle entretient également une relation sentimentale. Le disque s'appelera finalement Tuesday Night Music Club, en souvenir de cette collaboration. Le succès vient grâce au single All I Wanna Do, et Sheryl Crow obtient plusieurs Grammy Awards en 1994.
En 1996, le deuxième album, Sheryl Crow, est plus sombre et politiquement engagé. Elle y aborde des sujets comme l'avortement, les sans-logis ou les armes nucléaires. Le disque obtient un autre Grammy Award et est consacré « Best Rock Album ».
En 1997, Sheryl Crow contribue à la chanson titre du film Demain ne meurt jamais (James Bond).
En 1998 sort son troisième album, The Globe Sessions, suivi en 1999 d'un album live, Sheryl Crow and Friends, où apparaissent beaucoup d'autres musiciens, dont Stevie Nicks, the Dixie Chicks et Eric Clapton, son compagnon de l'époque.
Après plusieurs tournées, elle sort en 2002 C'mon, C'mon, dont le son est moins rock que ses précédents albums.
En 2003 Sheryl Crow s'engage contre la Guerre en Irak, à l'instar d'autres artistes américains. Elle enregistre un ancien tube de Cat Stevens, The First Cut is the Deepest, pour compléter une compilation, The Very Best of Sheryl Crow.
D'octobre 2003 à février 2006, elle a été fiancée avec le cycliste Lance Armstrong.
Elle apparaît dans le film De-Lovely, qui retrace la vie de Cole Porter.
En 2005, elle publie son 5e album studio Wildflower, assez proche de C'mon C'mon musicalement.
Le 22 février 2006, elle a été opérée d'un cancer du sein à Los Angeles. Elle récupère sans complication. Elle a annoncé le report d'une tournée nord-américaine qui devait débuter en mars.
