SLY & ROBBIE ft ERNEST RANGLIN, TYRONE DOWNIE & BITTY MCLEAN live @ Main Stage 2012
  • 8 years ago
The guitarist Ernest Ranglin who is well-known in Kingston's club scene has brought together jazz with Jamaican rythm & blues and ska from the beginning. How he is playing his semi-acoustic is literally magical: All his collectors know his fantasic songs as soloist in Studio One very well. He joined the twins of rhythm Sly & Robbie, which formed the most popular rythm section in the history of reggae. But they never closed their minds to other experiments of black music. That's how an extraordinary show is formed, based on the sensitivity of jazz and great collaborations, brought to the world of reggae by important songs from the roots of the Jamaican music. They invites Bitty Mc Lean, the singer from Birmingham, who recently has become famous for his beautiful voice and an attitude that resembles the great singers of Jamaican tradition.
