When performer CC Bloom and rich kid Hillary meet under the boardwalk in Atlantic City, its the start of a lifelong friendship between them. The two keep in touch through letters for years until Hillary, now a successful lawyer, moves to New York to stay with struggling singer CC. After having a child, Hillary starts becoming ill and relies on CC to help raise her little girl.
