OZONE ULTRALITE
The Ultralite is the lightest certified paraglider in the world. It is available in 2 sizes, 23 and 25m2. The 23m size is only 2.85 kilos! The Ultralite is perfect for a pleasant hike to launch, and also for serious alpinism. Ozone has also released a 19m2 size that is designed for serious alpinists who want the lightest possible wing that is still easy to launch and land.
Recently there has been a revolution of lightweight paraglider technology, which has been the result of material and design advances. The Ultralite’s cloth is from Porcher Sport and is extremely lightweight but still durable enough to be used in the mountains. The glider has been designed especially for easy launches and landings, because that is very important in the mountains. It also thermals well and has good performance for a DHV 1-2, although most pilots would probably not want to use it as their only wing. It is really better as a second wing.
The Oxygen1 Harness was designed to compliment the Ultralite, and it is a reversible harness / backpack system that weighs just 1.3kg, even though it has automatic buckles and nicely padded leg and back sections.
Overall the package is very easy to use, which is very important in the high mountains.
