"I shot my wife's lover": restaurateur turns himself in for murder

LEXINGTON, SOUTH CAROLINA — Local restaurateur has been arrested for the murder and attempted murder of his wife's lover and wife, respectively, on Valentine's Day after turning himself in.
According to arrest warrants, Gregorio M. Leon, 49, called 911 and said, "I shot my wife's lover," after an incident at a commuter parking lot.
Leon is charged with murder, the attempted murder of his wife, discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
According to the Lexington Police Department, at about 8:30 p.m. officers responded to a possible shooting on Riverchase Way near Corley Mill Road. Upon arrival at a parking lot on Riverchase Way, officers found a male victim, later identified as Leon's wife's lover Arturo Pereyra Bravo, deceased and laying on the ground with a gunshot wound. Officers also made contact with a female victim, Leon's wife Maria Rachel Leon, who had not been injured but had been involved in the incident at the time of the shooting.
Leon turned himself in at the Lexington Police Department and was transported to and booked at the Lexington County Detention Center.
Leon was already serving a 5-year probation term for his involvement in a public corruption investigation in Lexington County.
The restaurateur owns eight Mexican restaurants and plead guilty last November to federal charges of knowingly hiring 60 people who were in the country illegally. Leon testified that he paid former Lexington County Sheriff James Metts to help his employees avoid being processed at the Lexington County jail.
