The video, filmed yesterday, shows giant flames jumping into the air as people move to get away from the smoke.
The blaze was reportedly strongest in the San Cristobal Mountains, where hundreds of firefighters have now managed to get nearly three quarters of the fire under control.
However, several public buildings including schools and universities were evacuated yesterday as the smoke was causing respiratory problems for some locals.
The fires have also caused major traffic problems.
