During the twenties', Hirondelle Rivery del Rosario lives in Pampa-Terminal, a mining town located on the Atacama desert (Chile). This young musician accompanies silent movies' screenings with a piano and lives with her father, Alexander Rivery, an anarchist barber who organizes leftwing union meetings in his hairdressing salon. Hirondelle's life changes suddently when she becomes responsible for the host band related to the Chilean President's arrival and meets Bello Sandalio, an attractive trumpeter.
