Someone Tried To Smuggle Birds Into The U.S. Using A Fanny Bag

A passenger arriving in Miami from Cuba on January 9th was caught attempting to smuggle nine live birds into the U.S.

You might be surprised at what some people try to get through customs.

A passenger arriving at Miami International Airport from Havana, Cuba, on January 9th was recently caught with nine live birds--three of which were stashed near his groin. 

The remaining six birds were concealed in a fanny pack where they were each kept in a small tubular cage. 

The creatures were discovered after the culprit was selected for individual screening by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers.

Smuggling live animals into the U.S. is a federal offense.
