Meeting migrants in a muddy camp in northern France

In the north of France, thousands of migrants who dream of reaching the UK are living in makeshift camps. Around 3,000 of them live in precarious conditions in the camp of Grande-Synthe, just a few dozen kilometres from the infamous Calais "jungle", considered France’s biggest shanty town.
Just 40 kilometres from the Calais "jungle", near the northern French city of Dunkirk, 3,000 migrants live in the waterlogged camp of Grande-Synthe. With the help of the medical charity MSF, the local mayor is determined to offer these migrants decent living conditions that meet international standards. Our reporters went to meet them.
