This eye-appealing Technicolor adventure was the last of seven films produced and released by MGM from 1943-51. In all six films, "Lassie" was portrayed by a male collie named "Pal" and trained by Rudd Weatherwax. Pal's descendants played the role in all 19 seasons of the popular television show and subsequent feature films. They still continue to make personal appearances as the clever, canine celebrity even today.
