PASO ROBLES, CALIFORNIA — A pregnant California woman is taking Applebee's to court after allegedly finding a bloody, severed fingertip in her salad, according to a UPI report.

Cathleen Martin says she and her family were happily enjoying a meal at Paso Robles Applebee's on December 20th when they discovered the fingertip in the Chinese Chicken Salad they had already begun eating.

"It was so gross," said Martin in a press release issued her lawyer. "I'm on pins and needles worrying about what my family might have been exposed to."

Applebee's has since admitted said fingertip belonged to one of their employees, though, it's not yet clear how it ended up in a customer's food.

The gross incident forced Martin, who's due in two months, and her family to get medically screened to make sure they didn't catch anything.

She's now seeking damages from Applebee's for emotional distress, medical expenses and lost income.
