Venezuela: Nat'l Assembly to Appoint Supreme Court Judges
  • 8 years ago
The second extraordinary session of the Venezuelan National Assembly is being held today to appoint 13 new and 22 substitute Supreme Court justices. A initial session yesterday failed to produce the required 2/3 vote needed for such appointments. The right-wing opposition, which in the incoming legislature will command a majority, denounced the appointments as a "judicial coup". teleSUR
