Canadians are selling cans of fresh air to smog choking China

BEIJING, CHINA — Humanity has sunk so low that even air has become a commodity.

A commodity that can be sold at high price, especially to nations like China, where residents are choking in smog and pollution.

One can of clean air and oxygen from the beautiful Rocky Mountains in Canada can cost from about $14 to $20, sold by Canadian company Vitality Air. The first batch of 500 canisters sold out within two weeks, mainly bought by affluent Chinese women who buy them for their families or as a Christmas present, the Daily Telegraph reported.

The Canadian company is not even the first one to have had this idea. The Chinese themselves were the first ones to link clean air to profit. Beijing artist Liang Kegang sold clean air from southern France after a trip there last year. In 2013, multimillionaire Chen Guangbiao sold air from less-industrialized and polluted regions in China to more polluted places for five yuan (less than $0.80)

Well, at least that was cheaper.
