I Can’t believe You’re in love with me - Regina Parker 2003

Fearured violinist Regina Parker with the George Wein Newport All Stars at the Bern Jazz festival in 2003. George Wein piano, Rodney Jones guitar, James King bass and Alvin Queen drums.

REgina Carter built her reputation as a great jazz violinist with years of solid live performances that left critics dazzled. One of her greatest achievements was performing with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra on their international tour of Blood on the Fields. In January 1998, Carter appeared at New York's Sweet Basil for a series of concerts. Ben Ratliff of the New York Times wrote, "she proved something that perhaps didn't need proving except for the fact that there's so little evidence of it: that the violin's role in deeply swinging jazz is perfectly natural...."

This is a quote from her biography. more of that in

This tune lends itself supremely to the violin and Regina plays it to perfection. She is well named, as she is the "Queen" of this instrument. All the musicians in this post are fantastic.

Regina Carter, you have the swing in your heart, congratulations, Eddie South and Stuff Smith would be proud of you. Not virtuosity but yes musicality, in the spirit of this 40ties jazz style. You lost the first compasses of your chorus but it doesnt matter. Pretty good...
