Acorn worms, with their banana-shaped heads and somewhat creepy coiled bodies, aren’t much to look at, but they are family.

That’s right. The worms are our cousins, albeit distant ones.

Researchers at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University sequenced the genomes of two species.

Their results revealed humans share more DNA with them than we do with a good number of other living things.
