CREED - A formal statement of Christian beliefs. A set of beliefs or aims that guide someone's actions.

We need a faith that is organized. We need to know what believe and in whom we believe.

This exactly what early 1st & 2nd century Christians believed. For this reason we have the Apostles' Creed.

God's authority is not in creeds, belief statements, inspirational books, music lyrics, or denominational traditions. God's Authority is found in the WORD OF GOD. As we remember the church tradition called the Apostles' Creed we are not treating it as a source of Authority. Instead we feel that the creed reflects the true Authority found in Scripture. The creed is not the source of light but a reflection of the light of scripture.

In this 1st week we look at what Scripture says about the 1st sentence of the Apostles' Creed...

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of Heaven & Earth.

This is an essential belief in Christianity.

You need a faith that is
-Specific
-Personal
-Transformative
