Brazilian Church Rocks with Heavy Metal for Jesus

Black flames, metal music, skulls, black crosses, and dozens of piercings and tattoos on worshippers. These are certainly not the typical symbols of Christianity that one might expect to find in a church in Suburbia, for example, but they are par for the course at the Metanoia Church, an evangelical church located in the heart of the infamous Complexo da Mare favela in Rio De Janeiro.
