Bacterial resistance to antibiotics

Spreading antibiotic resistance could have disastrous consequences for patients undergoing surgery or chemotherapy, a study said Thursday. Antibiotics are routinely given as a precautionary measure to patients undergoing surgery and cancer treatment, to prevent infection.
