Brazil: Sao Paolo Cab Drivers Protest Uber Competition

Hundreds of taxi drivers in Sao Paolo, Brazil blocked city hall on Thursday to protest a bill that would in essence legalize Uber-type cab service, which is based on using a cell phone application. The city's mayor plans to issue 5,000 permits for a new type of cab service using the Uber phone application, a measure rejected by established taxi drivers and Uber itself. teleSUR
