The devotional garba danceoriginally meant as a religious ritual in Goddess Durga's honour that re-enacted the battle between Durga and Mahishasura. While it remains dandiya raas for the purists, it is techno dandiya for the young and the restless. As the festival approaches, garba and dandiya classes are a big draw in the city, attracting people from various communities and all age groups.
