The Greatest Race on Earth 2007 - 2008 aims to highlight the need for environmental responsibility on global scale
Standard Chartered Bank has announced the launch of the fourth series of The Greatest Race on Earth (GROE) with an exciting new competition called the 'Environment Challenge - Race for a Living Planet' for nations to win a share of US$1 million for environmental conservation projects in their country.
The Environment Challenge is a significant addition to the forthcoming Greatest Race on Earth (GROE) series. Standard Chartered has initiated the 'Environment Challenge' to promote global awareness of environmental issues. Standard Chartered Bank has partnered with WWF UK (formally World Wildlife Fund) donating the US$1 million to WWF UK to support vital environmental conservation projects which will benefit the three nations that attract the highest number of environmental pledges per capita. The results will be announced at an award ceremony following the last race in Hong Kong on Monday 18th February 2008.
